Discover the allure of Confluence Park

What is it about water that is so alluring? Why are we drawn to it? How does even the sound of its movement seem to convey feelings of tranquility?

Many of my favorite hikes are connected to water in some way. Here in the desert Southwest, water is even more precious and, therefore, more powerful.

Because of water’s innate magnetism, there’s something even more enticing about the meeting of two bodies of water, like the point where a river becomes a waterfall or where a lake becomes a river. That’s part of the attraction at Confluence Park between Hurricane and LaVerkin. As its name suggests, the park surrounds a confluence where the Virgin River meets not one, but two smaller streams, Ash Creek and LaVerkin Creek.
